I got inspired with the game Portal and a few references I found on the internet. I decided to compose 7 images for my 7 periods in school. The theme is how my day goes in school, class after class, and how the day just repeats itself. In each photo there is a series of ideas that I was able to put in the photo. The mood and theme in each individual picture were made to portray the mood and how I feel in each class, in addition to what the class is about. For example, 1st Period is made with a sepia tone to illustrate that the class is about history. It has many key points that are taught in US History that I was able to put in the photo. Like, MLK, slaves, President Lincoln, the Declaration of Independence, and more. In each of the photos, there is a portal that leads off to the next period. 2nd Period is the most chaotic photo, which is my photography class. It has lightning coming out of the portal because that is the class where this all came to life, in other words it’s the source of the portals and the source of the whole idea. In 6th Period it is not chaotic at all. It’s actually the opposite because it’s a relaxing class that bring almost no stress. It has the nice Zen vibe to it with just one book on the table to show how my mood is in that class. Then through the portal, we get to 7th period – my last class. It was meant to portray a very serious vibe that has a lot of concentration and thought. Like I said before, as part of my theme I wanted to show how each day is the same. Each class is the same mood, the same vibe, and the same type of material is taught. To show how each day repeats itself, I put a restart sign next to the portal in my 7th period. This was to show how after 7th period, you go directly into 1st period again to restart the same day.
